We added RSS feeds to CodeGuru so you could link to the latest articles. Now Longhorn follows suit by announcing support for RSS in Longhorn!

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. In simple terms, however, RSS feeds are simply links to XML files that follow a relatively specific format. Most sites today that publish content on a regular basis include links to RSS feeds. These links are generally indicated with a simple icon such as or .

CodeGuru includes four RSS feeds:

These links are available from the CodeGuru site, or you can copy the links from the above list. Many newsreaders and other programs will directly import these lists. Because the lists are updated on a regular basis, by linking to them, you will always have access to the most recent information.

With Longhorn, Microsoft is working to make it easier to discover, view, and subscribe to RSS feeds. They are also planning to make it easier for you to use RSS feeds in your applications.

With the release of Simple List Extensions under the Crative Common license, Microsoft is also working to make it easier for you to include photo albums, music play lists, and other information within RSS feeds.
