Developers have been using Visual Studio for the development of SQL Server database apps for years, but recently Microsoft has been updating and improving the database tools that are included with Visual Studio. These tools allow the developer to explore databases, create new database projects, look at schema, data, work with tables and more.

These tools allow the developer to explore databases, create new database projects, look at schema, data, work with tables and more.

The Visual Studio 2010’s Server Explorer allows users to browse through various databases and database objects, showing one database per data connection. Once you have added a database node to Server Explorer, you can begin to create diagrams, views, functions, types and tables.
