Kinect SDK for Windows Developers is Now Available

Microsoft is now providing software developers with the tools they need to develop the PC version of their Xbox 360 peripheral, for ‘Kinect for Windows’.

The Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming console’s Kinect was originally intended strictly for the Xbox however within days of its original release, hackers had already figured out a way to interface the Kinect with their PC, thus setting off a revolution. Researchers and legit-programmers are now testing and using the Kinect for everything from hazardous industrial applications to academic technology and medical projects. As such, Microsoft has launched an official SDK, or Software Developer Kit providing both would-be hackers and official programmers and developers with the tools they need to move this resolution forward.
