There are some limitations that apply to running Windows Azure Tools on the Windows 8 preview release. For instance, Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio does not support Dev11, so you will have to use Visual Studio 2010 instead. If you have installed Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio on a computer that is running Dev11, environmental path variables are affected and must be corrected.
To get started, you'll need to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, configure IIS, install the Web Platform Installer, and create a script to launch Visual Studio 2010. Now you're ready to start developing applications in the new Windows 8 preview!
