Microsoft Windows Phone 8 SDK Now Expected to be Released Later This Year

The Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 developer kit (SDK) release date has been updated and is now expected to be available around the same time of Windows Phone 8 launch which is currently projected to be October 29th of this year.

Microsoft earlier this year had promised developers delivery of their Windows Phone 8 SDK some time "this summer". Unfortunately for developers, Microsoft announced today on their Windows Phone Developer Blog that the projected release date has now moved out to sometime “later this year”. The new estimated release date for the SDK is now scheduled for the same time as the actual Microsoft Windows Phone 8 release currently scheduled for October 29th as well giving developers no time to kick the tires of their new developer tool kit. Microsoft has already been active in creating private builds of their Windows Phone 8 SDK and making them available to only a very small number of developers outside the company beginning earlier this year.
