Years of rumors pan out. It’s true. Microsoft has officially confirmed there will be no more version of Windows Home Server.

With the release of Windows Server 2012 Essentials, Windows Home Server will be no more. And while Microsoft admits the Home Server has seen great success over the years, it has reached end of life. However for this reason, some of the features that were previously included only in the Windows Home Server, such as DLNA compliant devices and media streaming will be bundled into Windows Server 2012 Essentials making the Windows Server 2012 Essential the best choice for both businesses and home users.
